About the Role:
The position of UK Tax Manager presents an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing tax function within a globally renowned organisation. Based in either Burgess Hill or Hemel Hempstead, with a hybrid working arrangement (two days per week in the office), this role has been created due to a retirement and the company’s strategic shift toward a combined UK tax function. The UK Tax Manager will play a pivotal role in managing corporate tax compliance and reporting processes, providing advisory support, and partnering with key stakeholders across the business. This position offers exposure to a variety of tax areas, including pensions, employment taxes, and global mobility, as well as opportunities to contribute to M&A activities and integrations. Candidates will benefit from a collaborative environment where they can make a meaningful impact while advancing their career in taxation.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee UK corporate tax compliance and reporting processes, managing the relationship with external advisors and reviewing outputs prepared by KPMG.
Lead quarterly IFRS tax reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
Provide advisory support to business controllers on tax treatment queries and other related matters.
Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure robust business partnering and alignment on tax-related issues.
Contribute to due diligence, integration processes, and M&A activities, working closely with the company’s M&A team.
Manage employment taxes, including PSA, P11D, and global mobility considerations.
Support the business in areas such as pensions and R&D tax credits (experience in R&D is helpful but not essential).
Required Skills and Experience:
Professional qualification such as CTA, ACA, or ACCA.
Experience in UK corporate tax compliance and reporting, with a strong understanding of IFRS standards.
Ability to manage external advisors and review complex tax outputs effectively.
Strong business partnering skills, with the ability to collaborate across finance and operational teams.
Exposure to employment taxes, pensions, and global mobility is highly desirable.
Experience with M&A activities, including due diligence and integration processes, is advantageous.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proactive and detail-oriented, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
