Senior Credit Risk Manager

Global Networks is assisting a leading, independent and integrated energy organisation to hire a Senior Credit Risk Manager to strengthen and evolve its credit risk function in a dynamic, international commodities environment. This is a high-impact role at the centre of Trading, Sales, Finance, Operations and IT—owning the credit risk framework and shaping how credit risk is assessed, managed and embedded across the business. Beyond classical credit assessment, you’ll drive tools, systems, reporting and process improvements to build a scalable, transparent and future-ready credit risk setup that protects financial stability while enabling commercial growth.

Required skills

• Strong credit risk capability, including evaluating creditworthiness and setting/maintaining appropriate credit limits for new and existing customers
• Proven ability to develop, implement and continuously improve credit policies, procedures and frameworks aligned to risk appetite
• Experience monitoring customer exposure and payment behaviour, identifying risk early and managing delinquent account actions
• Strong stakeholder management, with the ability to partner effectively across Trading, Sales and wider operational teams to resolve credit issues and support smooth business flow
• Analytical reporting skills, producing clear insights for senior management on credit risk and portfolio exposure
• Hands-on experience with Credit Risk Management IT systems, plus ETRM (RightAngle) and accounting systems (SAP)
• Fluency in German and English

Nice to have skills

• Background in commodities, particularly environments that combine trading with logistics operations
• Strong working knowledge of trade finance instruments and credit insurance
• Demonstrated interest in transformation work, including system enhancements and process redesign to improve scalability and transparency

Preferred education and experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field
• 5–10 years’ experience in credit risk and/or trade finance, ideally within a commodities environment
