Senior Accountant

What you'll do:

• Independently prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and IFRS
• Manage daily accounting tasks including general ledger maintenance, accounts receivable/payable, and fixed asset management
• Handle industry-specific accounting practices, such as revenue recognition for software licenses, SaaS/subscription models, and project billing
• Assist with VAT returns, cross-border services taxation, and group transfer pricing
• Reconcile intercompany accounts and support internal group finance processes
• Contribute to digitalization initiatives like workflow automation and e-invoicing
• Serve as the primary contact for auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners

Required Skills:

• Completed commercial training with certified further education as a Financial Accountant (Geprüfter Bilanzbuchhalter IHK) or a comparable degree
• Several years of experience in financial accounting, ideally within the software, IT, or technology sectors
• Strong knowledge of HGB and IFRS accounting standards, with excellent closing skills (basic knowledge of Austrian UGB is a plus)
• Experience working with multiple entities or business units
• Proficient in standard accounting software and advanced Excel skills
• High digital affinity, particularly in automation and process optimization
• Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken
• Independent, structured, and conscientious working style with a collaborative mindset

Nice to Have Skills:

• Knowledge of Austrian UGB standards
• Experience with ERP systems and integration interfaces
• Exposure to international tax considerations and cross-border transactions

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Relevant degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Several years of professional accounting experience, preferably in the tech or software industry
• Proven track record working across multiple entities in an international setting
