Interim Financial Controller

Join a rapidly growing, private equity-backed leader in the medical diagnostic imaging industry as an Interim Financial Controller. This pivotal role offers the chance to shape and lead the finance function of an innovative and ambitious business operating across X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and PET-CT services. You will be instrumental in building a scalable, efficient finance operation that supports significant organic growth, acquisitions, and prepares the company for a future exit. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee financial control, statutory reporting, treasury, system improvements, and governance, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data while transforming the finance function into a centre of excellence.

Required Skills:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven post-qualification experience as a Financial Controller, Group Financial Controller, or Head of Finance
• Strong technical accounting, statutory reporting, and financial controls expertise
• Experience working within private equity-backed, fast-paced, or leveraged environments
• Demonstrable success in improving finance systems, automating processes, and reducing manual spreadsheets
• Track record of establishing robust financial controls, governance, and managing external audits
• Treasury, cash management, and banking controls expertise
• Leadership skills to develop and manage high-performing finance teams
• Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience within the healthcare, medical devices, or medical imaging sectors
• Familiarity with inventory, equipment, service-contract, or project-accounting environments
• Experience integrating acquired businesses in a multi-entity group
• Exposure to M&A, refinancing, or exit scenarios
• Knowledge of implementing or upgrading ERP or finance systems
• Previous engagement with private equity investors, specifically H2 Equity Partners or similar

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Significant post-qualification experience in senior finance roles within similar-sized or private equity-backed environments
• Proven experience in a rapid growth setting, with responsibilities spanning financial control, systems improvement, and team leadership
