Required Skills:
• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification with strong technical grounding in UK GAAP and FRS 102
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or senior Finance Manager within construction, housebuilding, development, or similar project-led sectors
• Hands-on experience managing multi-entity groups, including consolidation and intercompany recharges
• Proficiency in building or enhancing monthly reporting cycles
• Practical knowledge of long-term contract revenue recognition, WIP, and contract provisioning
• Sound understanding of CIS, construction VAT, corporation tax, and compliance obligations
• Experience managing year-end, statutory accounts, and audits
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP/mid-market accounting systems
• Comfortable working in and leading a small, pragmatic finance team
Nice to Have Skills:
• Experience in a housebuilder, developer, or main contractor—particularly in high-end or super-prime residential projects
• Involvement in finance system implementations or migrations
• Familiarity with CVR, development appraisals, retentions, and payment applications
• Practice training, especially with an audit background transitioning into industry
Preferred Education and Experience:
• Be ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
• Demonstrate substantial senior finance experience in construction or project-based environments, ideally with multi-entity group oversight and reporting
