About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant to play a pivotal role in driving financial success within a forward-thinking organisation. Based in Leeds, the Financial Accountant will be a key contributor to the Accounting & Finance department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality accounting processes and improved management reporting. The role offers exposure to global operations, project work, and systems implementation, providing a platform for professional growth and development. The Financial Accountant will have the opportunity to work closely with various stakeholders, contributing to the company’s financial strategy and overall success.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver accurate and timely accounting reports, supporting the Finance Manager across a range of responsibilities.
Take ownership of management reporting and balance sheet controls, ensuring accuracy and reliability in month-end and year-end activities.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the control environment and decision-making insights.
Prepare quarterly management accounts for the UK group and Singapore entity, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Compile annual trial balances and financial statements for external audits and statutory reporting.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including distributions and payroll costs, for the UK group and Singapore entity.
Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and associated journal entries.
Assist with audits by providing data and documentation to external statutory auditors.
Produce regular financial reports for internal stakeholders.
Calculate and bill shared overhead costs to group entities and co-authorise payments in compliance with regulations.
Required Skills and Experience
Qualified, newly qualified, or part-qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA Accountant.
Proven experience in similar accounting roles with a strong understanding of technical accounting procedures.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and build strong professional relationships.
Highly computer literate, with advanced proficiency in Excel and experience using complex accounting systems.
Energetic, ambitious, and focused, with a commitment to delivering results and driving continuous improvement.
