About the Role

This Management Accountant position offers a unique opportunity for a proactive finance professional to shape and embed robust financial processes within a dynamic and expanding business. Reporting to the Commercial Finance Director, this hands-on role will initially focus on establishing strong financial reporting foundations and governance controls. Over time, the role will evolve into a broader commercial and business-partnering position, offering exposure to strategic decision-making and collaboration across the Parent Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the monthly trial balance.
  • Develop and produce monthly management accounts.
  • Establish and deliver corporate reporting in line with the Parent Group requirements.
  • Identify governance risks, financial inaccuracies, and control weaknesses, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support the implementation of robust financial controls and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Finance Director to create scalable management accounting and corporate reporting frameworks.
  • Transition into a business partnering role after the initial six months, providing commercial finance insights to founders and senior stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain cash flow forecasting and provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with wider group business units to ensure alignment with group standards and best practices.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Part-qualified or finalist ACCA, ACA, or CIMA (essential).
  • Strong grounding in financial reporting, trial balance preparation, and management accounts.
  • Good understanding of governance, controls, and risk identification.
  • Proactive, self-starting, and solutions-focused approach to work.
  • Comfortable working in environments where processes are being established and improved.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in setting up finance functions is not required, but confidence in building and improving processes is essential.
