About the Role
This company is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of financial control, reporting, and governance across their complex group structure. This hands-on position offers the chance to work on a diverse range of projects, including property developments, hospitality ventures, and other commercial operations. The Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring robust financial management, supporting commercial decision-making, and driving efficiencies across the portfolio. Key Responsibilities
Lead the month-end and year-end close process across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with UK GAAP.
Prepare consolidated and entity-level monthly management accounts, including detailed P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
Deliver robust budgeting and forecasting processes, incorporating scenario modelling and variance analysis at project and group levels.
Maintain and enhance financial controls, ensuring strong governance, clear audit trails, and effective risk mitigation.
Oversee cash flow management, liquidity planning, and intercompany funding structures.
Manage the preparation of statutory accounts and act as the primary contact for external accountants and auditors.
Ensure full compliance with UK tax requirements, including Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE, and CIS where applicable.
Support commercial decision-making through detailed financial analysis of development projects, capital expenditure, and operational performance.
Continuously improve finance systems, reporting packs, and internal processes to drive efficiency and scalability.
Required Skills and Experience
ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with strong post-qualification experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role within a Family Office environment.
Strong technical accounting knowledge, including statutory reporting and UK tax compliance.
Experience implementing and strengthening financial controls within a growing or evolving organisation.
Advanced Excel skills and experience working with accounting systems in a multi-entity structure.
Commercially aware, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a hands-on capacity.
