About the Role

This role is pivotal in providing financial accountability for key venues and events, working closely with project teams to manage budgets and deliver accurate financial reporting. Based in London, the Finance Business Partner will play a crucial role in supporting the financial aspects of major events and venues, while also gaining exposure to all areas of finance within a small yet impactful team. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end close processes for assigned venues and events.
  • Provide weekly performance reporting to directors, including income, GP%, and staffing cost analysis.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets, reforecasts, and rolling forecasts.
  • Coordinate and oversee weekly payment runs for venues.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of card and cash takings to report and recognise revenue.
  • Own the financial aspects of event budgets, challenging overspends and ensuring compliance with PO approvals.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers to reconcile budgets and report on variances.
  • Produce analysis and reports to identify trends and support onsite operations.
  • Support year-end audit processes and ad hoc finance projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and procedures.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in project accounting and the restaurant, venue, or events business.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables).
  • Strong analytical and budgeting skills with the ability to manage large data sets and complex spreadsheets.
  • Confident in challenging senior managers and presenting financial insights.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.
  • Part-qualified to newly qualified in CIMA, ACCA, or ACA.
  • Preferred experience with Paprika accounting systems.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a proactive, analytical mindset.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple revenue streams and cost centres effectively.
