About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and motivated individual to join the finance team as a Credit and Billings Controller. This position plays a critical role in managing the company’s debtor ledgers and ensuring timely invoicing and payment processes. The Credit and Billings Controller will work closely with internal teams and external clients, contributing to the company’s healthy cash flow and minimising financial risk. Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage the accounts receivable ledger, ensuring timely receipt of payments.
• Onboard new clients and map associated billing processes effectively.
• Proactively chase overdue invoices through phone, email, and written communication.
• Accurately allocate and reconcile incoming payments.
• Generate client invoices in a timely and precise manner.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to resolve billing queries efficiently.
• Set and review credit limits in line with company policy and procedures.
• Conduct timely and accurate reconciliations between debtor ledgers and external funding ledgers.
• Investigate and resolve queries related to external funding ledgers.
• Resolve customer disputes promptly and professionally.
• Prepare detailed weekly and monthly debtor reports for management.
• Produce weekly short-term cash flow forecasts based on debtor performance.
• Work closely with the wider business to address issues affecting payment processes.
• Escalate high-risk accounts and recommend appropriate actions to mitigate risks.
• Support month-end processes, including reporting and account reconciliations.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience in a similar Credit Control or Billings role, within the recruitment industry.
• Strong understanding of credit control processes and financial controls.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, Sage, or Xero, and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Knowledge of credit risk assessment and credit checking tools, such as Experian or Creditsafe.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a professional telephone manner.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
• Ability to prioritise workload effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-solving abilities and resilience when managing challenging situations.
• Ability to build positive relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Relevant finance or accounting qualifications are desirable but not essential.
